Mike Katz plays Highland pipes and whistles with the Battlefield Band. He is established as a top musician on the scene, and an outstanding tune maker. An excellent guitarist and bass player with eclectic tastes - Frank Zappa and Weather Report through to LA bands like The Minutemen and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to Leo Rowsome and a horde of Scottish traditional players.
Music on the album ranges from very old manuscript sources to his own compositions, laced with music from Brittany. Mike plays Highland and small pipes, whistles, guitar and bass and is joined by his friends: jazz guitarist Kevin MacKenzie, Tannahill Weavers fiddler John Martin, Simon Thoumire on concertina, and Alasdair White, Battlefield Bands fiddler.
